Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Creature 3-Pack

Another Mega Bloks micro figure day! This was a nice surprise while browsing Toys R Us. I had never seen this before, and I thought it was a really neat idea. For some people, half the fun of World of Warcraft is the creatures throughout Azeroth.

S.H.Figuarts Shinken Red

Hot damn! This was an amazing find! I was at Toys R Us, looking for anything new, and tucked behind some lame Power Rangers toys was a S.H.Figuarts Shinken Red figure! And it was marked down by $10! I've never seen these things in a store before, and I have no idea how this TRU location ended up with one.

I only heard of S.H.Figuarts just a few months ago when they announced the coming of the Red and Green Mighty Morphin figures. I immediately pre-ordered the Red Ranger, and I've been tracking the release of Power Rangers/Super Sentai figures since.

So yes, anyway, this find totally made my day, and I was giddy from the second I picked it up until I brought it home. It's a whopper, so this will be a doozy of a review.

Mega Bloks Power Rangers

It's  Monday, so a light day for Figured Out. Today I'm combing two different series of Power Rangers Mega Bloks: Megaforce (Series 1) and Samurai (Series 1). These are pretty much the same thing as the LEGO MiniFigure mystery packs, but obviously they are themed to Power Rangers Samurai or Megaforce.

LEGO MiniFigures (Series 10)

I'm pretty sure it's obvious by now that I love minifigures. Well, from LEGO and Mega Blocks, at least. So, you can count on Figured Out to feature every new series of LEGO MiniFigures. Last time, it was Series 9. Since then, Series 10 has come out, and I've been actively collecting!

(Pretty gold!)

Marvel - The Avengers - Shock Strike Thor

Fun fact: I typically enjoy Marvel characters way more than DC characters. I haven't looked too much into why that is; I've just noticed I'm more drawn to X-men and Spider-Man characters, and a few others from different titles. Like, the Avengers! I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't know much about the Avengers before the latest movie came out, and I'm more than okay with that. The important thing to me is that I enjoyed the movie, and I really enjoyed the characters in that movie.

While browsing Target for new figures a while back, I noticed a rather large section of The Avengers figures. Different variations of different characters. Iron Man had about six different figures each with different kinds of brightly colored suits. Thor figures with weird accessories. And ZERO Hulk figures! A huge disappointment to me. Anyway, I grabbed the most normal looking figure I could, and ended up with this Thor.

Zeus and Hades

Woof. It's been a while. First, I was changing rooms in the house so that took some time away. And now I'm moving. So today is pretty simple, but it's still a set of toys that I really, really am happy to still own from my childhood.

Mega Blocks World of Warcraft: Deathwing's Stormwing Assault

Continuing  my obsession with Mega Bloks and World of Warcraft, today features one of the bigger sets available in the line. So let's say the Sindragosa and the Lich King set came in a big-ass box--Deathwing and Stormwind come in a huge-ass box. There are 809 pieces as opposed to the 150 for Sindragosa and the Lich King; it took me three and a half hours to build this one! Although it probably would have gone a little faster if the pieces were packaged together in a sensible way. There were several bags filled with pieces. At first, I assumed each bag contained the pieces to certain piece of the set. But no, that was not the case.
Anyway, I'll get on with the post.

Green Goblin

I can tell you right now that most of my posts will be about Power Rangers, WoW, and Star Wars. Those are the lines that I'm most interested in, so it's only natural that I focus on them.

So when I include a toy from a different series, you should know that it really caught my interest! Like today's figure!

I love Green Goblin. He's the iconic villain from the Spider-Man series with a great mixture of crazy and genius (just like the Joker from Batman). I saw this figure mixed in with a bunch of Spider-Mans at Toys 'R' Us, and couldn't pass it up.

An Update! #1

I'VE FOUND IT!

Ever since I saw this toy was a thing, I've been looking for it.
And I am so happy to say that I've finally gotten it!

Mega Bloks World of Warcraft: Sindragosa & the Lich King

I have no idea how to introduce this thing. Obviously, I've been on a Mega Bloks kick so far. And this all started just before I created Figured Out. So, if I haven't been into LEGO since I was a kid and just now started getting back into it and Mega Bloks, I think it's safe to say that this is the first building blocks set that I've ever purchased myself. And, honestly, I think it's a pretty good first set. For, like, the last 10 years, when someone thinks of World of Warcraft, the Lich King comes to mind immediately. He's been a main antagonist in the Warcraft series since Warcraft III, and even though Wrath of the Lich King was the second expansion to WoW, the Lich King has always been in the background of the game. All that to say, I'm a nerd who likes Mega Bloks and WoW. So it makes complete sense that the first set I purchase is the one with the Lich King figure.

Power Rangers Megaforce Mini Battle-Ready Figures (Series 1)

So sorry about the long time between updates! My work schedule has been impossible lately, and today has been the first opportunity I've had to get back to Figured Out. So I'm gonna just jump right in.

Today's toy initially irritated me. I really dislike miniature versions of action figures clearly aimed at younger children. They're usually boring and a huge disappointment. But... well, I'll come back to this in a bit.

Darth Vader(s)!

Star Wars has been a huge part of my life since I was little. I collected Star Wars action figures long after my peers lost all interest in the franchise. At one point, I owned over 200 different action figures. But then, unfortunately, I grew up. I was moving soon, and I didn't have room for everything. And, I sort of lost interest... finally. So I threw most of my figures into a garage sale. But! I kept my favorites.

When it all comes down to it, I'm pretty sure Darth Vader is my favorite Star Wars character. Sure, there are a handful of others that really got my attention, but Vader will always be in my heart.

For my first Star Wars review, I've chosen two different but similar Darth Vader figures.

Power Rangers Action Card Game (Series 2 Guardians of Jusitce)

Very minor update today. The second installment of the Power Rangers Action Card Game became available for sale earlier this month, and I just wanted to include it on Figured Out. Basically the same exact thing as Series 1. The only change is the packaging. But like I said, pretty much more of the same, just adding 115 cards to the mix (I already have 111 of them).

Power Rangers Samurai

This week brings a double review, both toys from the Power Rangers Samurai series. Samurai and Super Samurai were the two previous Power Rangers seasons. And since they're likely the last Power Rangers toys from previous seasons that I'll be purchasing, I've decided to knock them out with one post.

Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Faction Packs - Valoren

I fully realize that I'm dipping deep into how much of a nerd I am by showing my interest in World of Warcraft so early on. But like everything else, I can't help it. This is just too neat!

World of Warcraft has an awesome Mega Bloks line. Or is it that Mega Bloks has an awesome WoW line? Either way, the playsets offered are kind of phenomenal.
I've always written off Mega Bloks as basically the generic LEGO. They looked cheap. The sets sometimes looked hokey and cheesy. They just couldn't compete with LEGO.

Not anymore. I'm honestly starting to believe that Mega Bloks' poor initial reception by the public has allowed them to experiment with design and has given them more creative freedom. Also, keep in mind that this is all subjective opinion only. I realize LEGO has been around since 1949. And Mega Bloks (or whatever it was called) came around in the 60s. My opinions of Mega Bloks didn't come until thirty years later. Getting off topic.

I'm starting to love Mega Bloks. The partnerships with other brands have given them the ability to create some of the most detailed building blocks sets that I've personally seen. Take, for instance, the World of Warcraft Faction Packs.

Power Rangers Action Gard Game (Series 1 Rise of Heroes)

I'm going to try to put up a new post every Thursday, and possibly an extra bonus post on Sundays if I have something. I was planning to save this review for later, but I'm just super into it right now, and it's pretty neat.

Megaforce Power Rangers Action Pack

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise. And Bandai is going all out. Retro action figures, callbacks to the original seasons, and a tits Action Card Game that includes just about everything from the last twenty years of Power Rangers; but I digress.

The first Power Rangers related review on Figured Out is for the Toys 'R' Us exclusive Megaforce Power Rangers Action Pack.

LEGO MiniFigures (Series 9)

Okay, I haven't been actively buying toys for maybe ten or more years? So when I was listening to a recent episode of The Kingdom of Loathing Podcast and heard Mr. Skullhead describing a single pack of LEGO minifigs that you can buy, I got real excited. So the next time I was at a Target, I went straight to the toys section, and hunted for these. Strangely, they weren't in the LEGO aisle--they were stuck between a bunch of Star Wars toys. Anyway, I found them, and I love them!
To be completely honest, this blog started only to be used as a testing ground of sorts. My boyfriend, over at Studs and Buttonholes, was having trouble customizing the design of his site. I causally mentioned that I used to be mildly interested in coding and whatever a very long time ago as a way-over-to-the-side hobby. So he convinced me to pick it back up and make Studs and Buttonholes pretty.

But I didn't want to create a nothing blog. If I am going to do this, I am going to really do this.

So here it is. Figured Out. My reviews of (mostly) action figures that I currently own, or the ones I purchase because they catch my eye while I'm out shopping. And when I say "review", I mean that in the lightest sense of the word. I can't imagine I'll have more than a paragraph to say about any one feature. So don't expect much.
