Mega Blocks World of Warcraft: Deathwing's Stormwing Assault

Continuing  my obsession with Mega Bloks and World of Warcraft, today features one of the bigger sets available in the line. So let's say the Sindragosa and the Lich King set came in a big-ass box--Deathwing and Stormwind come in a huge-ass box. There are 809 pieces as opposed to the 150 for Sindragosa and the Lich King; it took me three and a half hours to build this one! Although it probably would have gone a little faster if the pieces were packaged together in a sensible way. There were several bags filled with pieces. At first, I assumed each bag contained the pieces to certain piece of the set. But no, that was not the case.
Anyway, I'll get on with the post.

The box is pretty straight forward. It shows all of what's included in the set: the front entrance to Stormwind, Deathwing, three frigures, a carapult, and a treasure chest. Pretty cool stuff.

Stormwind is huge! And it's surprisingly accurate to how it's actually set up. The statues of Khadgar, Alleria, and Turalyon are a nice touch and really pull the set together, I think.

Nothing too special about the catapult, except that you can make it actually launch that little ball, which is neat. But for someone who doesn't play with toys, it's just a fun addition.

There's a super neat treasure chest included that you can fill with little translucent pieces that are supposed to be gold and jewels, I suppose. It's a really neat accessory.

The random loot that came with this particular set. It's the sword that comes with the Orc Faction Pack figure.

This set comes with three figures. A night elf, a gnome, and Varian Wrynn! Varian is the king of the Human race, and basically the leader of the Alliance. He's a big deal, and is considered to be a bad ass. So it's cool that he's included.

And now! Deathwing!

Deathwing is a beast. In the game, in the lore of Warcraft, and definitely in the toy line. He's significantly bigger than Sindragosa, and he's about the same size as the Stormwind set itself. In lore, Deathwing's body is breaking at the seams, letting fire and magma seep out, and the only thing holding him together is adamantium. I think the Mega Bloks Deathwing does a great job of capturing the look and style of such an iconic character. Especially his jaw. That is Deathwing.

So that's about it. A pretty cool set, with two hugely iconic characters. I'm happy to own it, and I recommend it to any Mega Bloks/WoW fan!
