Darth Vader(s)!

Star Wars has been a huge part of my life since I was little. I collected Star Wars action figures long after my peers lost all interest in the franchise. At one point, I owned over 200 different action figures. But then, unfortunately, I grew up. I was moving soon, and I didn't have room for everything. And, I sort of lost interest... finally. So I threw most of my figures into a garage sale. But! I kept my favorites.

When it all comes down to it, I'm pretty sure Darth Vader is my favorite Star Wars character. Sure, there are a handful of others that really got my attention, but Vader will always be in my heart.

For my first Star Wars review, I've chosen two different but similar Darth Vader figures.

Power Rangers Action Card Game (Series 2 Guardians of Jusitce)

Very minor update today. The second installment of the Power Rangers Action Card Game became available for sale earlier this month, and I just wanted to include it on Figured Out. Basically the same exact thing as Series 1. The only change is the packaging. But like I said, pretty much more of the same, just adding 115 cards to the mix (I already have 111 of them).

Power Rangers Samurai

This week brings a double review, both toys from the Power Rangers Samurai series. Samurai and Super Samurai were the two previous Power Rangers seasons. And since they're likely the last Power Rangers toys from previous seasons that I'll be purchasing, I've decided to knock them out with one post.

Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Faction Packs - Valoren

I fully realize that I'm dipping deep into how much of a nerd I am by showing my interest in World of Warcraft so early on. But like everything else, I can't help it. This is just too neat!

World of Warcraft has an awesome Mega Bloks line. Or is it that Mega Bloks has an awesome WoW line? Either way, the playsets offered are kind of phenomenal.
I've always written off Mega Bloks as basically the generic LEGO. They looked cheap. The sets sometimes looked hokey and cheesy. They just couldn't compete with LEGO.

Not anymore. I'm honestly starting to believe that Mega Bloks' poor initial reception by the public has allowed them to experiment with design and has given them more creative freedom. Also, keep in mind that this is all subjective opinion only. I realize LEGO has been around since 1949. And Mega Bloks (or whatever it was called) came around in the 60s. My opinions of Mega Bloks didn't come until thirty years later. Getting off topic.

I'm starting to love Mega Bloks. The partnerships with other brands have given them the ability to create some of the most detailed building blocks sets that I've personally seen. Take, for instance, the World of Warcraft Faction Packs.

Power Rangers Action Gard Game (Series 1 Rise of Heroes)

I'm going to try to put up a new post every Thursday, and possibly an extra bonus post on Sundays if I have something. I was planning to save this review for later, but I'm just super into it right now, and it's pretty neat.

Megaforce Power Rangers Action Pack

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise. And Bandai is going all out. Retro action figures, callbacks to the original seasons, and a tits Action Card Game that includes just about everything from the last twenty years of Power Rangers; but I digress.

The first Power Rangers related review on Figured Out is for the Toys 'R' Us exclusive Megaforce Power Rangers Action Pack.

LEGO MiniFigures (Series 9)

Okay, I haven't been actively buying toys for maybe ten or more years? So when I was listening to a recent episode of The Kingdom of Loathing Podcast and heard Mr. Skullhead describing a single pack of LEGO minifigs that you can buy, I got real excited. So the next time I was at a Target, I went straight to the toys section, and hunted for these. Strangely, they weren't in the LEGO aisle--they were stuck between a bunch of Star Wars toys. Anyway, I found them, and I love them!
To be completely honest, this blog started only to be used as a testing ground of sorts. My boyfriend, over at Studs and Buttonholes, was having trouble customizing the design of his site. I causally mentioned that I used to be mildly interested in coding and whatever a very long time ago as a way-over-to-the-side hobby. So he convinced me to pick it back up and make Studs and Buttonholes pretty.

But I didn't want to create a nothing blog. If I am going to do this, I am going to really do this.

So here it is. Figured Out. My reviews of (mostly) action figures that I currently own, or the ones I purchase because they catch my eye while I'm out shopping. And when I say "review", I mean that in the lightest sense of the word. I can't imagine I'll have more than a paragraph to say about any one feature. So don't expect much.
